4 out of 5 stars Great TV, but the EPG is a bit Naff   May 1, 2009

Had this TV a couple of weeks now. Had Bravia's before and this one is also good picture and sound wise. Only negative is the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG). If you want to look at the info of a programme on another channel the TV changes to that channel if you press the 'i' button - which is very irritating. Have an older 22" Bravia in the bedroom which doesn't do this so why change it and make it worse! Overall, happy with the TV, but loses 1 star owing to the rubbish EPG.

4 out of 5 stars Great TV!   November 13, 2009

I bought this TV just over a month ago and I am still very happy with it!

One of the main things I was looking for was a TV that had a black surround that wasn't like all the others that are around at the moment. All the others I saw had a shiny plastic surround so when watching, light reflects off of it and you can even see your reflection, which really distracts from the film!!! So when I found the Sony bravia, I was over the moon. It only has a tiny bit of shiny plastic right at the edge.

The picture quality is amazing as is the sound, the only downside is the remote. Quite slow at changing channels and I can't use the Guide function as it goes to the channel when you just want to read the information. So we just buy a TV Guide (which we prefer anyway!), the main thing about a TV is how it performs when your watching it and you certainly cant fault this TV! Would definitely recommend.

5 out of 5 stars A Typical Sony TV   September 3, 2009

Firstly, I have noticed that prices of TVs recently have fallen considerably. In particular, the big makes such as LG, Samsung, and of course Sony. So we ordered this Sony mainly because of the price and as usual a fantastic service is provided by Amazon as it arrived within 2 working days, in perfect condition.

The TV itself is stunning to look at, especially when placed on Levv - Glass Stand For Plasma & LCD TV Up To 32" Or 40kg - Black Glass With Chrome Legs, which is what we bought with it, and so I would fully recommend this combination.

The picture quality and sound are also equally as good, both very crisp and clear. They both have pre-sets, like Cinema, Photo etc., but the one that's best by far in my opinion is 'Dynamic Surround' sound with 'Vivid' picture. The remote is also incredibly easy to use, with few buttons. Don't use the eco setting, as the picture quality is downgraded a lot.

There are few negatives, but one could be that the EPG is a little slow and you cant set a timer, which is trouble for people with an analogue recording equipment.

But overall this is a stunning TV, and probably one of the the best value ones on Amazon. I'd thoroughly recommend it, in fact you'd be mad to not even consider it when buying a 32 inch.

Well, I've never bothered reviewing anything I've bought from Amazon before, but I've been so impressed I had to this time.
Absolutely fantastic service once again from Amazon. I ordered this on Tuesday lunchtime and it was delivered Thursday lunchtime, and this was on free supersaver delivery! The price was cheaper than anywhere else I found.
The TV itself was a joy to set up, literally just plugged it in attached my DVD player and set the channels. All in all it took about 15 mins from opening the box to sitting watching it! The set up menus are simple, the instructions clear and the picture quality is superb. We dont currently have Sky or similar so I cant comment on connecting other extras, (although I'm sure that would be just as easy). Very highly recommended. Thanks Amazon (and Sony!)

This product ticks all the boxes for me, Clear, intense and vivid colour of pictures, clarity of sound and sleek design plus it was so easy to set up. Just as they say 'Plug and Play' and that is exactly what I did! Sony Bravia KDL32S5500U 32-inch Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV with Freeview
