I've been searching for a HD TV for over a month now and looked at the usual suspects...Sony, LG but Samsung came highly recommended by friends and also good reviews i read on line. I must admit the 40inch is HUGE and just fits on my glass stand, i upgraded from an old 27inch CRT. I've only just set it up a day but I'm very impressed. There is a little assembly required when you remove it from the box, a two person job! however once that's done its all automatic set-up from then on. I'm no expert but the speakers are loud enough for my room, if a little "tinny" but to be expected from 10w invisible speakers. The screen is crystal clear and highlights how bad Low Def actually is. Getting Sky HD later. I've not watched much on it but of what i have seen there doesn't seem to be much motion blur if any on movies (it is not 100Hz technology). Connectivity is unbelievable, its crazy to think a TV needs a LAN port, 4 HDMI, 1 SCART, 2 USB 2.0, top-up TV card slot, optical, component in, PC VGA plus audio...So there's a few ways to connect to it. The best part was the price, at least £170 cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else and the delivery was three days early!! Highly recommended!!!!

We wanted a new HD TV and decided to buy the Samsung LE40C580.......the 40" screen is fabulous and excellent for watching programmes in HD, especially sport! The picture quality is second to none and we love the 'swivel feature' meaning we can watch it from anyway in the living room. We bought it for a very competitive price too and definitely recommend this product.

Ordered this tv to replace an older 37" Samsung TV and found the quality of the picture to be extreamly good. Sound isn't quite as good as my older one then this tv is slimmer and I expect the speakers are a little smaller. This isn't a problem as I usually play all my sound through my AV amp.

Setup was easy and I had it up and running in a few minutes. I found that the contrast needed turning down a little as it was set on 100% which is a little too high in my opinion. HD Freeview is very good, normal freeviws is as expected. Blu Ray, PS3 and XBox 360 look amazing in 1080p.

USB socket allows the attachment of usb sticks and hard drives and the built in media player funcion works suprisingly very well for a TV. Not up to the standard of a standalone HD media player/streamer but certainly usable. The ability to connect to my PC through the network port is an added advantage and again not as good as a HD media player/streamer but useful.

All in all a good tv for a good price.

Very happy with the TV, picture quality is very good for an LCD with no light bleed. Standard def freeview is excellent but it couldn't find any freeview HD channels. Not sure if this is a signal isue or not...

Bought specifically for the ability to play divx and mkv video files from USB. Does this perfectly and after fiddling with the settings a really good picture too. Really pleased.
